Fishing Season in the Dominican Republic
Billfish (especially Blue Marlin) and other pelagic species such as Mahi Mahi, Wahoo and Tuna are the main attractions of the fishing season. The fishing format is Catch and Release. The 2018 season was one of the longest and most exciting fishing seasons of Marina Casa de Campo. The season closed on May 30th with 972 Blue Marlin releases out of 1,435 strikes in 131 fishing days. On December 23rd of 2018 Luis Viyella captured a Yellowfin Tuna weighing in at an astounding 480 pounds establishing a very important feat for sport fishing in the Dominican Republic and the world as the biggest Yellowfin Tuna ever captured in any fishing form worldwide.

Are there tournaments or events for fishing?
Yes, every year we host the Marina Casa de Campo Cup from March 15th to April 15th, a prestigious competition in accordance with IGFA rules. Boats can compete without an entrance fee. The Cup is a permanent trophy, with the winning boat and owner’s name engraved annually. There are no restrictions on fishing hours, or number of anglers. What fishing equipment is available at the Marina?
Marina Casa de Campo does not offer any fishing equipment. Most charter boats provide the necessary equipment.
