The Dominican Republic offers a 25% transferable tax credit on qualifying spend, which includes pre- to post-production, equipment, services and labor, as well as above and below-the-line costs for projects with a $500,000 minimum spend. It also offers a VAT exemption on directly-related goods, services and/or rentals for approved film suppliers, and a custom tax exemption on the temporary import of goods and equipment necessary for filming.
The Dominican Republic counts with a legal framework for both local and foreign film productions. The Law No. 108-10 “promotes the development of the Film Industry as well as establishes and orders policies for Cinematographic and Audiovisual activities, attending to the modernization and internationalization of the national film industry”, as stated by the Dominican Republic Film Commission (DGCINE).
Casa de Campo prohibits the use of personal or commercial drones without prior written authorization from resort management due to privacy and safety concerns for our guests and employees. This includes drones used for filming or videotaping, as well as any drone use by media or journalists operating above or within resort boundaries. Any violation of this policy may result in the confiscation of any equipment and the imposition of any damages, including but not limited to damages for invasions of privacy and/or physical or personal injuries, regulatory fines, and legal fees.
