Visiting beautiful Altos de Chavón is a must for guests of Casa de Campo. The village is an incredible replica of a 16^th century Mediterranean village. Designed by Dominican architect Jose Antonio Caro and Italian cinematographer Roberto Coppa, the village is both a cultural center and a work of art in its own right.

It’s here that you’ll find the prestigious Altos de Chavón School of Design, affiliated with New York’s Parsons School of Design.

The school offers two-year College Level programs as well as shorter courses focused on fashion, film, and the fine arts. Some very talented graduates have studied within the walls of the Altos de Chavón , La Romana campus.

Elliot Tupac, pictured above, is a Peruvian screen-printing and letter artist credited with creating chicha street art. Chicha is a musical tradition, and the art was born out of the vibrant posters and murals promoting it. Tupac is renowned for his innovative fonts, posters, and murals. At the Altos de Chavón School of Design he has taught Typography and Lettering.

We know our guests at Casa de Campo always want to look their best, so we’re sharing our top beach haircare secrets. These seven hair tips will keep your hair happy, healthy, and looking stylish while you’re sipping piña coladas or Il Trinitarios from the comfort of a chaise lounge at Minitas Beach.

1. Keep It Natural

At the beach, you’re on vacation and your hair should be too! Avoid using too many drying styling products, and also avoid styling tools that use heat, like your hair straightener. Embrace the natural waves the beach gives your hair, there’s a reason they sell surf-spray inspired products in salons – here at Casa de Campo, you’ll get the look the natural way!

2. Add SPF
