The courses, of course

Teeth of the Dog® , Dye Fore and The Links offer breathtaking views, spectacular plays and exciting challenges for professional and amateur golfers alike. And for us, golf is an integral part of the resort’s identity. This is why we can guarantee an unforgettable experience with everything you and your pals might need during your trip.

All the other amenities we offer

Everyone is planning their next leisure trip, but how long is too long for a perfect vacation? According to a study, 8 days is the perfect length for enjoying all its benefits without getting bored or having negative thoughts. With this in mind, we made an itinerary of everything you could accomplish in a week and a day at Casa de Campo.

DAY 1: Relax, you made it!

After a safe flight to the Dominican Republic, a shuttle picks you up from the airport, you receive a warm welcome from the team at our front desk, and in a few moments you will finally take off your shoes and lay into one of the most comfortable beds you’ve ever been in. It’s time to get acquainted to your room or villa: take a repairing siesta, watch some cable TV, take a relaxing bath, and when you feel like exploring the resort, grab the map and the keys to your personal golf cart. We promise it’s going to be a fun ride!

DAY 2: Explore at your own terms

It’s fairly easy to get everywhere you want at the resort. After a hearty breakfast, decide if you want to marvel at the beautiful colors of the Marina, stroll at the cobblestone streets of Altos de Chavón, or dip your toes at the warm waters of Minitas Beach. Just know that wherever the day takes you, you are able to enjoy delicious meals, snacks and drinks at any of the resort’s restaurants and bars.

DAY 3: Try a new sport

Feeling full of energy already? It’s time to burn it by practicing your long-time favorite sport or trying a discipline that gets you out of your comfort zone. Golf is the indisputable king around here, but the other sports available can stand their ground. Whether it’s tennis, shooting, water sports, equestrian sports… you and your companions will sure have a blast sharing your experience over a nice dinner.

DAY 4: Get to know the island

Sure, Casa de Campo offers everything you might need during your week-long vacation– and a lot more. But after all, you are in paradise, and we encourage you to know a little bit more of it. Ask for our special day tours to Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, so you can experience firsthand its history as the first city of the Americas at the charming Colonial Zone. Or perhaps you prefer to explore two other mini-paradises that are full of surprises: a boat ride will take you to Saona and Catalina islands, where you can swim between coral reefs, taste the catch of the day and get handmade souvenirs from the locals.

DAY 5: Party hard!

Casa de Campo is mostly known as a relaxing destination, but there are plenty of activities going on all year long. Check the official calendar to see what new concerts, parties, dinners or charity events are going on at the time of your stay. And if you find no highlighted events, you will always have fun nights at Genesis Night Club, SBG, or any of the bars and restaurants in the area.

DAY 6: Casa de Campo and Chill

By now, we are sure you have a favorite spot at the beach or the pool for reading, snapping selfies, or just soaking up the views. But now is the time to bring things up a notch by switching to a 100% relaxation mood. Don’t be shy and take advantage of our spa treatments that range from facials, body wraps, sauna with Hot & Cold pools, to more holistic experiences like private yoga lessons, and many types of massages and more.

The Marina at Casa de Campo

DAY 7: Do it again

Today’s formula is very simple: do more of what you loved at the resort. The choice is entirely yours!

DAY 8: Time to go back

Yes, you’re sad about leaving. But according to the study we mentioned earlier, you just had 8 perfect vacation days full of cool things to do, and after our designated shuttle leaves you at the airport to take a plane home, from now on you will relive the memories of your stay. So don’t hesitate to post your #Throwback pics, on instagram or facebook, as soon as you land; it means you will have plenty of time to plan a new escapade at Casa soon enough.

Our dedicated Vacation Planner team will help you schedule activities for every day you spend at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas. Call our Travel Experts at 855-877-3643 to book your vacation and make the most out of your 8 days in paradise.

Get to know the newest Film Career in Altos de Chavón School

Altos de Chavón is mostly known for being a Mediterranean-like villa right in the heart of Casa de Campo, with a world-famous amphitheater that has hosted unforgettable concerts. But also, this quaint little town is home to Altos de Chavón School of Design, a place that has been a pioneer in art and design education in the country for more than three decades and it’s currently one of the most renowned schools of its kind in the world.

Aerial of altos de chavon

Last February, the school started a new two-year college level program in Film at their campus in La Romana, featuring an in-depth vision of the process of creating audiovisual productions both in theoretical and practical forms. Students will have the opportunity to learn from local and international teachers in immersive workshops and through creative research and experimentation. “The main requirement to study film at Chavón is to love cinema passionately,” says Tanya Valette, former Director of the International Film and TV School of San Antonio de los Baños and current Director of the Film career at Chavón.

Although the first generation of film students has not finished the program yet, the school was recently selected as a Stellar Film School by Variety Magazine, a leading publication in the entertainment industry, alongside big players such as the NYU, Stanford, London University and more.

For those who wish to enroll in the second installment of the Film Program, admissions are open for September 2018 at La Romana Campus. However, if you want to specialize in specific areas of film for a short period of time, you can take advantage of the school’s Continuing Education and International Summer programs covering a range of topics from cinematography, editing, sound recording, screenwriting, animation, art direction, and much more.

From New Orleans to New York: An American Culinary Experience in Casa de Campo

After a successful run of Flavors of the World, a journey through different world-class gastronomic destinations, we are ready to say goodbye to its second installment with two American cities that lead the way of culinary boldness, innovation and originality. For its season finale, chefs Tory McPhail (Commander’s Palace, New Orleans) and Marco Canora (Hearth Restaurant, New York) will teach us how to appreciate down-to-earth cooking techniques with seasonal and local ingredients.

Tory McPhail

For more than 20 years, Tony McPhail has been the executive chef of the original Commander’s Palace restaurant in New Orleans, a staple of Creole cuisine right in the heart of its place of origin. His forward-thinking approach allows him to update classic Creole dishes with farm fresh ingredients, while respecting the strong heritage and passion of the region. Tony’s work has earned him numerous TV appearances in shows such as “Top Chef”; NBC’s “Today”; CBS’s “Early Show”; “Paula’s Party” with Paula Dean, and many other Food Network programs, and also many acknowledgments such as the James Beard Rising Star Chef award, being named one of the best chefs in the United States by The Daily Meal in 2013, and “Tastemaker Chef” by Saveur magazine in 2012.

Marco Canora

On the other hand, celebrity chef Marco Canora has been acclaimed for his refined yet unpretentious way of cooking Italian-inspired food. From preparing a full meal for president Bill Clinton on his first restaurant in Martha’s Vineyard to teaching his secrets and tips through books, online videos and annual classes in Tuscany, Canora has a tireless path of excellence. His many endeavors include curating the menus of two wine bars, Terroir East Village and Terroir Tribeca, operating the Michelin-starred Insieme Restaurant, and currently being at the front of Hearth Restaurant, where Marco wows his guests with the unsurpassed flavor of his dishes.

These two brilliant chefs have in common their passion for seasonal ingredients, the inclusion of the farm-to-table philosophy into their restaurants, and the relentless pursue of quality in every project they do. And soon you can try their dishes for yourself in the two last Flavors of the World of 2017! Book your stay for October 27, 28 and 29 to experience the essence of New Orleans’ best with Tony McPhail, and on the 10, 11 and 12 of November to delight in the Italian-American flavors of Marco Canora.

If you’ve been to Minitas Beach lately, you sure have missed the sight of our old Beach Club and instead, a renovation site occupies its place. The reason is the awaited construction of the new Minitas Beach Club & Restaurant, to open this Holiday season.

This new project will include a completely renovated restaurant concept with a pool deck addition, ocean view bar lounge and spaces for signature dining environment. We are still in the beginning stages of the construction, but we are happy to share with you some images of what the new Minitas will look like. The designer team behind it is the architectural firm Studio Fini, recognized architects Gianfranco & Nicola Fini who have captured the elegance that characterizes Casa de Campo and combined it with spectacular panoramic Caribbean views in an exclusive tropical environment.

New Minitas Pool and Deck

Located in the famous Minitas Beach, the new MINITAS Beach Club & Restaurant will provide a creative and versatile offer, based on Mediterranean and Latin culinary traditions, combining different elements for a vibrant and captivating experience, additionally, the traditional a la Carte menu and dish options in “large format” for large groups. The chef’s specialties bring a dynamic element where they will work to deliver top-notch services.

Among the new facilities, the extensive project will have a 23m-infinity pool, a wide lounge area with a bar, which will be one of the best spots to enjoy the sunsets at the island! We can only imagine now the memories that will be created watching the sun go down at this beautiful location. The space will be the perfect spot for local and international DJs to set the tone for endless and lively parties.

We’re sure this new Beach Club will contribute to establish the Dominican Republic as a unique destination, highlighting the quality of service and signature gastronomy.

Make sure to stay in touch, because we will continue sharing on an upcoming soft opening, where residents, guests, and media will be invited to experience the new exciting “place to be”.

Unaffected by Hurricane Irma, Casa de Campo Resort & Villas remains open for guests

After the precautions taken during Hurricane Irma, the staff at Casa de Campo & Villas returned quickly to normal operations. We want our guests to enjoy the full Casa de Campo experience and we are immensely grateful for the team’s commitment to ownership and compassion shown for our guests’ safety.

“We are incredibly grateful and feel very blessed that Hurricane Irma spared us. We are praying that the hurricane will dissipate and stay in the Atlantic, away from our neighboring islands, friends, families, staff, and everyone in its path,” said Andrés Pichardo Rosenberg, President at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas.

The safety and security of our guests and employees remains our top priority at Casa de Campo. We were in constant contact with the local authorities and, as always, took guidance and direction as needed, from them.

Everyone loves to unwind and unplug on vacation. Nothing’s better than turning on your Out Of Office notification and escaping the stresses of everyday life. But sometimes, technology can help make your vacation go even smoother. Download these five travel apps to make your next trip a breeze!

Hopper

When you’re planning a vacation, one of your first steps (after selecting Casa de Campo as your destination, of course) is booking a flight. Luckily, there are plenty of apps out there to help you find the best possible airfare.

Hopper will let you look at the cheapest dates to fly on a calendar, and will send you push notifications when it’s the best time to buy. The company claims to save travelers up to 40% on airfare, thanks to the way they track and analyze billions of flights.

Duolingo

A trip to the Dominican Republic is a great excuse to brush up on your Spanish! Duolingo is a free app that adds an element of gaming to language learning. It’s a great way to prepare for a vacation, exercise your mind, and have a little fun.

TripIt

The TripIt App is a simple way to organize your travel itinerary, from flights to your Casa de Campo hotel or villa reservation. You can even include dinner reservations, concert and event tickets, and more.

The app pulls in information from your confirmation emails and stores it in one place. You can access all your information offline, which means you can check your itinerary mid-flight or overseas without incurring roaming charges.

XE Currency

The official currency of the Dominican Republic is the Dominican Peso, which can fluctuate in value. Rather than trying to calculate the exchange rate in your head, download the XE Currency app and quickly convert prices to your own currency. You can even access the app offline, making it easy to use while on the move.

Snapseed

These days, many travelers have forgone a traditional camera in favor of the one on their smartphone. After all, you can’t beat the ease and convenience. To take your vacation snaps up a notch, download Snapseed. This popular (and free) photo-editing app will let you custom edit your shots, or add a filter. Unlike other photo apps, Snapseed lets you adjust the color and brightness of just one area of your photo, rather than the entire image.

Once you’ve snapped a few great Casa de Campo vacation photos, post them to Instagram with the hashtag #CasaDeCampoResort. We’d love to see them!

Now that you’ve downloaded these apps, all you need is a reason to use them! Start planning your next great vacation by browsing packages and offers for Casa de Campo.

Catalina Island Excursion

A deserted tropical island positively screams romance, and you’ll capture the essence of a private paradise when you sail out to nearby  Catalina or Saona Islands.
