A villa vacation at Casa de Campo is the perfect fit for family and friends traveling together, getting away with golfing buddies or making a bold impression while entertaining business associates.
These "Villa Tips" are designed as a reference to you to assist in the planning, preparation, and greatest enjoyment of your stay in a Casa de Campo villa. We suggest that you print this document and review at your leisure to most easily find the information of greatest interest to you. See the "Contact Us" section at the end of this document for further resources.
We encourage you to make restaurant reservations, golf tee times and any special service requests in advance of travel. Please call the reservations department at 1-800-877-3643 or click here to e-mail for assistance. A word of caution: Since there may be several families in your villa, with different surnames, it is very important that you coordinate your planning carefully to avoid duplications, cancellation charges and confusion during your stay. We recommend that you all agree on one name to use when making arrangements. You can then list additional names for such individual services as Spa Treatments, golf tee-times, etc.
HolidaysThe Holiday Season, December 21-January 3, is a very busy and exciting time at Casa de Campo each year. If you will be our guest during this festive time, it is very important that you make certain arrangements in advance so we may accommodate your preferred scheduling. This includes: Restaurant reservations, New Year´s Eve Celebration, extra touring carts and car rentals, in-villa catering and Chefs, Nannies and baby sitting, sports, golf tee-times, spa treatment services, and any other special requests.
Upon arrival, please consult with your Excel Concierge to reconfirm that all pre-arrangements are correctly in place. You may make any desired changes at that time, subject to availability. If you would like to have some goodies waiting for you in your villa upon arrival, click here.
Classic Villas: Year-round except for stays December 21 - January 3: A two-night deposit is required within 7 days to confirm the reservation and the selected villa. Reservations will be cancelled automatically if the deposit is not received within seven days. Full prepayment of the villa and any supplemental services is due 14 days prior to arrival date. If reservation is cancelled 7 days or more prior to arrival date, a full refund will be processed. For cancellations received between 4-7 days prior to arrival date, a 50% penalty will be retained. No refunds will be made for cancellations received 3 days or less prior to arrival or for no-shows.
For stays during the Holiday Season - December 21 - January 3: A two-night deposit is required within 7 days to confirm villa reservation and selected villa. Reservations will be cancelled automatically if the deposit is not received within seven days. Full prepayment of the villa and any supplemental services is due by October 1. For any reservations made after October 1, full prepayment is due within 48 hours to confirm the villa reservation and selected villa. For cancellations received between October 1 and November 20, a two-night cancellation penalty will be retained. No refunds will be made for cancellations received after November 20, or for no-shows, early departures or late arrivals. Reservations must be received in writing. Please note there is a 7-night minimum stay requirement at Holiday Rates for Classic Villas during the Holiday season.

Every villa is equipped with the following comforts and conveniences: Each bedroom has air-conditioning, cable TV, a safe deposit box and two bathrobes for use during stay. There is a hairdryer in each bathroom; the kitchen contains a full size refrigerator, gas or electric stove, microwave oven, cooking utensils and table place settings. Each villa provides an ironing board and iron and, for your safety, smoke detectors and a fire extinguisher.
Additionally, villas receive daily maid service to refresh sheets and towels as needed and keep the villa clean. Each villa includes either one touring cart for 2 bedroom villas or two touring carts for 3 and 4 bedroom villas - and in times of high demand, one cart may be upgraded to a mid-size car; for more information see "Touring Carts" in the choices below."
For a "welcome treat," a selection of fresh fruits and a Dominican Bar consisting of three types of rum and six bottles of mixers await you upon arrival.
A special service to our Villa guests, your Excel Concierge is available for restaurant and sports reservations, general information or any other assistance. Dial Ext: 5407/5409 or stop by the Excel Concierge lounge any time. Open from 8:00am to 10:00pm. (May close earlier in Summer Season.) If you made arrangements prior to arrival for restaurant reservations, activities or any other services, please reconfirm with your Excel Concierge upon arrival to insure accuracy and make any changes that may be desired at that time. Your two-bedroom villa includes one red four-passenger touring cart and larger villas include two carts. This is a fun, relaxing way to navigate throughout most resort areas, including the Marina. You will be asked to sign an agreement upon arrival which includes some of the following important facts about Casa de Campo´s touring carts:
• May be driven only by licensed drivers over 18 years of age
• May not be driven outside the area of cart operation as indicated on the Resort map received upon arrival and by road signs located within Resort property.
• Carts have a full tank of gas on arrival. Gas refills may be arranged through the Concierge desk, or call Ext. 3165. Additional gas is subject to additional charge to your hotel account.
•Valet parking service is available at the main lobby area.
All of Casa de Campo´s villas have a pool or whirlpool. Enjoy it! We urge you to use prudence and supervise children at all times, as water safety measures in the privacy of your villa is the guests´ responsibility. Use plenty of sunscreen.
Please do not remove towels from the villa. Towel service is available at the main pool and the beach.
Catering of meals and other customized services in your villa offer a delightful opportunity to entertain family and friends in an intimate, private-home setting, with no work for you!
To make arrangements in advance, please see the "Planning Ahead" and "Contact Us" section of this document for details. After arrival, please contact your Excel Concierge at least 24 hours in advance. Please note that the cost of these services is not included in any meal plan or inclusive supplement and will be charged in full to your hotel account.
To strengthen your Villa Vacation Experience, choose to add the Excel Services Supplement and the Villa Inclusive Supplement
Excel Services include daily breakfast prepared in your villa; private maid and valet service for 8 hours each day to attend to your needs, serve breakfast and keep your villa sparkling clean; private airport transfers from La Romana Aiport; a welcome assortment of snacks and drinks waiting upon your arrival.
The private maid and valet are on duty for eight hours each day, arriving at 7:30am and leaving at 3:30pm, with one hour for lunch. Upon your arrival, they will prepare drinks and snacks, show you around the villa and familiarize you with the maintenance of hot-water heaters, pool equipment and kitchen appliances. They will take each person´s luggage to the bedrooms; assistance with unpacking and hanging of clothes is provided, in your presence only, to avoid possible misplacement of important articles.
On a daily basis, the private maid and valet will prepare and serve your breakfast, provide general housekeeping and cleaning, assist with maintenance questions or service requests, prepare sandwiches or other light fare, keep an eye on the children only when adults are present, and generally attend to your needs. Please note: The private maid and valet speak some English and can generally understand your requests. Your fully bilingual Excel Concierge is a phone call away.
Tipping of Villa Staff There is a 10% legal service charge included in your rates. Additional tipping during your stay for any service is allowed but is solely at your discretion. Additional tipping to villa house staff is allowed and US$10.00 per staff member per day would recognize exceptional service. Sorry, but you may not take your maid and valet home with you!
Casa de Campo offers an excellent inclusive supplement for villa guests, which includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, and unlimited drinks by the glass. You may enjoy the regular menu items in Casa de Campo restaurants, including one salad or appetizer, one main course, one dessert and coffee. Nightly gourmet offerings are featured in some restaurants with a surcharge. Drinks include soda, house bottled water, premium and national alcoholic drinks, draft beer and wine by the glass.
Drinks ordered by the bottle, premium bottled water and any additional menu orders will be charged to your hotel account.

We love families at Casa de Campo, and we´re dedicated to providing you and your children a happy vacation.
For you:You save "mucho dinero" (lots of money). Children 12 years and under stay free with you in the villa (one child per villa bedroom). Discounted rates apply on Inclusive Supplements and include participation in age-appropriate daytime activity programs. Nannies ´n Casa is available at an additional charge to provide a helping hand during the day (mother´s helpers) and evening (babysitting). You can relax! All of our children´s services and activity programs are designed to be in compliance with strict safety standards; the staff and Nannies are carefully selected, screened and trained in CPR and childcare skills.
There are separate activity programs for Toddlers 1-3; Kidz´ 4-7; and ´Tweens 8-12, all with fun adventures, sports, arts & crafts, water games and more. For teens 13-17, there is the very cool clubhouse, Bonche4teens, with pool table, music, video games, computers, movies, snacks and more. Membership in the teen program requires parental approval and the teen´s guest card may be used to charge snacks, drinks and optional organized activities.
There are organized Family Fun Time activities scheduled throughout the day as part of the "Que Pasa ´n Casa" program and the Family Fun Zone allows the entire family to enjoy the facilities of the teen club house for a few hours. The "Pot Bunker" Sports Bar is a great place to congregate and watch your favorite sports together.

A note about teens: Legal drinking age in the Dominican Republic is 18. While photo ID is requested before serving anyone of questionable age, we urge you to use caution with your teens.
Casa de Campo offers an outstanding variety of dining experiences. Consult with your Excel Concierge to preview menus and check restaurant schedules during your stay so you may enjoy all the options. For after-dinner entertainment, La Cana Bar offers live shows and music for dancing every night. No cover charge. The spectacular production "Kandela" at the Altos de Chavon amphitheater is a don´t-miss event. Check the schedule on-line at www.kandela.com.do prior to travel or with your Excel Concierge during your stay. Cost for "Kandela" show is US$35.00 per adult and US$15.00 per child ages 8-12 and tickets may be purchased after arrival. Advance purchase is not required.
In keeping with Casa de Campo´s ambience of "Caribbean chic" the appropriate dress code is enforced. For gentlemen, collared shirts and long pants are required for dinner. Please be punctual as restaurant reservations are held for 15 minutes only.
You can arrange for most of your needs through your Excel Concierge for items provided through Casa de Campo resort services. In addition, there is a supermarket in the Marina, and a small grocery store in Altos de Chavon where you can find a good variety of baby food and formula, diapers, hand-washing detergents and other practical supplies. There is a pharmacy in La Romana, but you should insure that you bring adequate supplies of prescription medications. There is a nurse on staff and an excellent medical center in La Romana.
As a convenience to our guests, for items not available within Casa de Campo or the Marina, an Errand and Delivery Service is available to the nearby town of La Romana. There is a US$25.00 service charge. See your Excel Concierge to make arrangements.
Express mail services for documents or small packages through Federal Express, DHL or other similar service providers are very dependable. However, we strongly recommend that you do NOT ship separately any large packages with food, golf clubs or other items through airline cargo. Airport cargo security and customs procedures are very stringent and can cause high costs and delays.
A telephone is located in each bedroom of your villa and many villas also have a phone in the living area. These telephones are connected through Casa de Campo´s switchboard and can be used for outside calls or resort extensions. Villa guests may be reached by calling the resort´s main switchboard at 809-523-3333 and requesting you by name or by villa name and number. For this purpose, we recommend that you register the names of all persons in the villa upon check-in.
For golfers, Casa de Campo is heaven on earth. For full course information, click here. It is important that you make tee-time reservations well in advance to insure your preferred courses and times.
Your touring cart(s) provides a leisurely and fun mode of transportation throughout Casa de Campo, including the Marina. When traveling to Altos de Chavon, drive to the Lobby area to park your touring cart(s). Valet parking is available at the Bell Captain´s station in front of the Lobby. A few steps away, you can take the shuttle bus to Altos de Chavon. Call the Bell Captain at Ext. 5270 to check the shuttle bus schedule. Additional touring carts may be rented at an additional charge, subject to availability. Private internal transportation by shuttle from your villa is available at an additional cost; please call the Bell Captain for this service.
There are several car rental agencies at Casa de Campo, including international companies such as Hertz, Avis, and National. You may call their central reservations number or call our reservations department at 1-800-877-3643 for assistance. Please expect car rental rates to be higher than in the US.
For your convenience, villa bedrooms are equipped with safe deposit boxes, free of charge. The hotel is not responsible for loss of personal valuables. Please check to make sure the safe deposit door is securely locked before departing the villa. If your safe is key-operated, please remember to return the key at checkout, or a charge of $100.00 will be applied to your hotel account.
Hotel outlets are 110 volts (same as USA). Adapters are available upon request through your Excel Concierge.
Laundry bags and order forms are located in the closet of each bedroom. Please place garments in the laundry bag, complete the order form, leave the bag for the maid before 11:00am and laundry will be returned by 4:00pm the next afternoon. Same-day service is also available for a 50% surcharge on regular prices; clothes should be given to the maid by 10:00am for return by 5:00pm the same day. Shoe polishing service is also available.
Check out time is 12:00 noon each day. If you desire a late check-out, it must be requested AND confirmed in advance and is based upon availability. A surcharge for late check-out will be applied to your hotel account.

A first aid station is located in the main area below La Cana Bar, and is open from 7:00am to 10:00pm daily. A fine medical facility is located in La Romana, approximately 10 minutes away.
The Business Center is located behind the lobby and is fully equipped with internet service, computers, printers, faxes, cell phone rentals, calling cards and photocopy machines. Costs of these services may be charged to your hotel account. Hours of Operation:

All year round the temperature at Casa de Campo varies between 77°F / 25°C and 85°F / 30°C.
Just in case you didn´t know, "Que Pasa" means "What´s Happening" in Spanish. And there´s a lot happening at Casa de Campo. In addition to our great sporting facilities, restaurants and other facilities, our "Que Pasa ·n Casa" guest entertainment program adds special events, activities and excursions to the already extensive list of recreational adventures at the resort. Look for merengue lessons, beach barbecues, donkey polo, a sunset trail ride on horseback to dinner, explorations of nearby points of interest, catamaran sailing, family fun times and much more. Villas at Casa de Campo are privately owned. Villa assignments prior to arrival are granted and accepted with the knowledge that rare cases may occur which may make the assigned villa unsuitable for occupancy, including unforeseen maintenance problems, nearby construction, or a change in the hotel´s rental agreement with the villa owner. In such a case, Casa de Campo reserves the right to assign a comparable or upgraded villa at the confirmed rate. If this information is known prior to arrival, Casa de Campo will advise you in advance; if the villa assignment change influences your plan to travel, any applicable hotel cancellations penalties will be waived.
Casa de Campo employs every effort to maintain all villas and their inventories in proper working condition. In case of a maintenance problem while onsite, we will strive to repair the problem as soon as possible after receiving notification. In the event of problems that cannot be repaired within 24 hours, we will relocate guests to a comparable villa at the confirmed rate. No refund or rate adjustment shall be made for unforeseen mechanical failures such as the supply of electricity, water, pool filtration systems, air conditioning, television or cable services, appliances, etc. It is the guest´s obligation to report any problems or damages to us immediately.
Please be advised that most islands in the Caribbean experience occasional water pressure problems or sporadic electrical outages, that are completely out of our control.
A security deposit is required at time of check-in, along with your signature of acceptance on our Statement of Policies, Conditions and Provisions, as follows:
Classic Villas - US$1,500.00 security deposit
Exclusive Villas - US$2,500.00 security deposit
Any damages incurred to the villa or its contents during occupancy (plus a 25% service charge) will be taken from from this security deposit. Damages that exceed this amount will be charged to the guest credit card on record. No charge will be made until the guest is notified. Casa de Campo has 7 days from date of departure to notify guest of such discovered damages and guest has 7 days to dispute and/or settle such damages. An automatic charge for damages in excess of the security deposit will be made to the credit card on record within 14 days after departure unless otherwise agreed to in writing between the guest and Casa de Campo management. Security deposits will be refunded (less charges for damages) within 30 days after your departure. The total number of persons allowed in the villa at any time is restricted to the number of persons reserved and paid for in advance (with the exception of infants). Should a group misrepresent themselves, they will be required to pay for the additional persons immediately and/or may be required to vacate the villa without refund.

All Classic Villas and Exclusive Villas have a whirlpool or pool. Most are not protected by fencing or other methods. It is the responsibility of the villa occupants to take due care and insure that common-sense water safety procedures are observed for children and adults in this private villa home environment.
Prior to your villa selection, it is your responsibility to inform us of the number of people, any special health conditions (allergies, heart conditions, walking problems) or any other special requirements relevant to accommodation selection. We require the name, address and telephone number of each guest.
Most villa homes are not wheelchair accessible, nor have handicapped facilities. If you have special needs, please contact us at villaspecialist@ccampo.com.do with details and we will do our best to find a compatible villa.
Most villas are child-friendly. In those few cases where the villa is not suitable for young children, this will be clearly stated in the "At a Glance" villa highlights and it is the responsibility of the villa occupants to heed such warning.
Although all efforts are made to ensure guest safety within the resort and the community of La Romana, please observe normal precautions regarding security at all times. Guests are responsible for their villa, and are expected to insure that all windows and doors of unattended areas are secured. General travel recommendations to the Caribbean include traveling light on valuables, jewelry and carrying traveler´s checks in lieu of excessive cash.
Casa de Campo is a residential community and we endeavor to maintain a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere for the quiet enjoyment of our owners and guests. We appreciate your efforts so as not to disturb other residents of the resort. NO house parties or functions such as weddings are allowed without advance written consent of the owner and the resort.
