Running at Casa de Campo Resort is a great way to keep fit while you’re on vacation. One of the best things about running as a sport is that it’s easy to take with you wherever you go. Just pack a pair of running shoes and your favorite fitness ensemble and you’re ready to go! You can familiarize yourself with your surroundings, soak in some Dominican Republic sunshine and benefit your cardiovascular and overall health.

Get ready to lace up! Breathtaking scenery, varied trails, and the storied runner’s high are waiting. Besides, you’ll want to work up an appetite so you can taste all of the creations our chefs are cooking up in our restaurants. Whether you’re a resident of Casa de Campo who makes running a part of your everyday routine, or a guest looking to stay in shape while on vacation, there’s no shortage of reasons why running at Casa de Campo is awesome.

You can pick your backdrop. The gorgeous grounds of Casa de Campo are so vast that you can run as far as the eye can see! Through lush tropical countryside, along the beach, on trails or even on the treadmill in our Fitness Centre, there’s no shortage of options when you’re choosing your running route.

You can get tips from the best. The experts at our onsite Fitness Center and world-class physiotherapy clinic, Pinecrest Physical Therapy, can help you be your best. From treating injuries to helping you with your running form, you’ll be in top shape after spending time at these top-of-the-line facilities.

You can run for a good cause at the Casa de Campo Corre por Hogar del Niño. This event is in its third year and welcomes runners from all over to participate in 5K, 10K, half and full marathons in La Romana each November. This year’s marathon takes place on November 27th and is a fantastic way to challenge yourself, take in the stunning surroundings of the Dominican Republic, and help Hogar del Niño–a non-profit organization that has been aiding local children since 1976.

Don’t consider yourself a runner? Here are some of our tips for learning to love the sport:

  • Find a running buddy. Running with friends or family members makes it a more social outing and having a partner can help you stick to your running schedule.
  • Enjoy your route. There are so many beautiful views at Casa de Campo Resort, so while you’re running make an effort to pay attention to your surroundings. The sound of the waves, or of the breeze in the palm trees, the flowers and plants, the feel of the ground under your feet. Focusing on your surroundings and senses will make the kilometers fly by.
  • Reward yourself for reaching your goals and share your achievements. Did you finally make it to 10K? Or finish your 5K in less than 30 minutes? Did you hit your goal of an hour-long run? No matter how big or small, you should be proud of achieving your running goals. Reward yourself with a spa treatment or special meal, and share your accomplishments on social media.
  • Let technology help you. There are a ton of apps and gadgets to help you become a better runner. Whether you’re listening to a Couch to 5K app, logging your mileage on a running app or tracking your pace on a wearable fitness device, running tech can definitely help you enjoy getting out for your runs.
