Casa de Campo Pro-AM 2008Dear Professionals: Again I look forward to hosting you and your members at Casa de Campo. For the past 28 years Casa de Campo, my staff and I have done everything possible to make your pro-am experience and vacation the best ever. A few changes have been made to give you a better opportunity to attend our events and promote our tournament packages. For 2008, we will be offering 6 days/5 nights tournament packages and 8 days/7 nights packages for teams who plan to arrive early to extend their vacation to a full week, enjoy our resort and our three Pete Dye courses. The pro-am official tournament rounds will be played from Wednesday to Saturday with the official arrival day Tuesday. We are also offering weekly tournament packages to give you the opportunity to extend your vacation, practice and relax before the start of the tournaments. Although the first two events have always been scheduled back to back in the past, this year because of the PGA Merchandise Show the two events will be separated by one week. The Golf Professional will receive a complimentary double occupancy package for his or her entire stay if he or she brings a complete team of three amateurs or single occupancy package if all his amateurs stay in single rooms. If all the team members are accompanied, an extra complimentary package will be offered to the companion or wife of the Golf Professional. The Professional purse based on 28 teams will be $10,000.00 and the field will be divided into junior and senior divisions (50 years+). The tournament will be a 72 holes stableford format. The pro-am format will be one best ball for the first 36 holes and 2 best balls for the last 36 holes. Teams will be divided into flights according to the total handicap of the amateurs. Prizes will be awarded in each flight, overall gross and net champions plus overall senior and super senior team winners. For the ladies, we will have daily team format. Flights to the Dominican Republic book very quickly so do not wait to make your reservations. You can fly directly to La Romana Airport, from Miami on AA. Santo Domingo and Punta Cana airports are another option from many other US airports using AA, USAir, Continental and Spirit Airlines. La Romana Airport is a few minutes from Casa de Campo and the other two, a simple 1 hour 15 minute bus ride. To register your team go to our website at www.casadecampo.com.do and email us your entry. After you register your team, you can modify your entry and continue to provide us with critical information as you receive it. Teams without confirmed airline reservations or credit card information 45 days before the event will be cancelled. Upon arrival at Casa de Campo, your amateurs will receive special tournament favors; and all prizes to the winning teams will be mailed directly to your club.
