A Sea of Sports
On Casa de Campos' exclusive Minitas Beach, guests can enjoy a sea of
water sports. Choose from kayaks, hobbie cats, windsurfers and paddleboats.
Special arrangements can be made for anglers, snorklers or those guest that
wish to SCUBA dive. Minitas also houses a massage room for private soothing
sessions by the water. While you sun or play, have one of the famous
Minitas Beach piña coladas served in a huge pineapple. For families,
La Palapa, the beach hut, is available so kids can play supervised games and
sports. Parents are welcome to join
or have their children play alone under
the supervision of the trained La Palapa staff.
Finally, treat yourself to a day of fun in the sun or be beachy-chic
while dining in beach attire at the El Pescador restaurant.
Island HoPping
On the archipelagos of the Dominican Republic romance and blissful fun
can be yours. Sail to the nearby Catalina Island and enjoy it’s white sand
beaches and pristine blue waters. The Sunset Sea Cruise, a private charter,
is a two-hour catamaran ride for you and your loved ones to experience the
spectacular Caribbean sunsets. The Chavón River Cruise aboard the charming
old world “River Princess” or “Empress Lily” paddleboats is an evening tour
that gets you upclose and personal with the beautiful winding Chavón River.

One Fish, Two Fish
Grab a friend for a half or full day of deep-sea fishing. Land wahoo,
dolphin, tuna, kingfish, sailfish, marlin and barracuda, which are all
plentiful in local waters. Fresh water fishing, a trip that winds through
lush tropical vegetation, tall cliffs and palm trees down the Chavón River
is also available. Though fresh water may seem like less of a challenge,
weekend warriors should take heart; near world-record snook have been caught
in the Chavón. The three-hour excursion includes the river guide, tackle,
bait and sodas.
For those interested in photography, the two-hour river tour
is a scenic ride with superb views including some Hollywood highlights.
