Civil ceremonies are performed solely in Spanish. However, an English translator will be provided upon request.
Witnesses are available and a legalized wedding certificate (in Spanish) after you say "I do" is included in the cost of the Civil Marriage Fee.
Catholic ceremonies are performed in Spanish only (translators may be used) at the beautiful St. Stanislaus Church at Altos de Chavón.
Valid passport, birth certificate, baptism certificate and confirmation certificate. If widowed, a death certificate must be presented; a release from your Church authorizing the marriage in the Dominican Republic; and a pre-nuptial certificate from your local parish indicating you have received instructions from the Church.
Witnesses are not required for a Catholic Ceremony and the priest provides a Canonical Marriage Certificate after the ceremony.
Note: Blood tests are not required in the Dominican Republic.
